FIBER BUILDS IN RURAL DALLAS AND MADISON COUNTY

Don’t delay or take the chance of our construction crew passing you by! Get your site survey scheduled by August 29!

Panora Fiber is bringing Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology to the rural residents and businesses of rural Linden, Redfield, Adel, Earlham and Madison County. Product options will include ultra-fast Fiber Internet, reliable video and crystal clear phone services. Complete the interest form below your designated map below in order to express your interest. We’ll then reach out to you with updates during the fiber construction phase. The map shows who in your neighborhood has already shown their interest. Not sure what fiber is? Check out the FAQ section below to find out more! (Filling out the Interest Form does not commit you to becoming a fiber customer.)

You’ll also need to complete a Permission To Bury Form before we can initiate the fiber build process on your property and Application for Service. Please click here to complete the Permission To Bury Form. Please click here to complete the Application for Service.

How the Fiber Construction Process Works

STEP 1: DESIGN

This step has been completed. Contractors, city officials, and Panora Fiber collaborated on the fiber path design and submitted it to the county for approval. Engineers chose the most efficient way to bring fiber optics to the designated rural areas.

STEP 2: MAIN LINE CONSTRUCTION

Construction crews begin the fiber build along the roads of the project.

STEP 3: SIGN UP

Please click here to complete the Permission To Bury Form, which lets us know you’d like to be connected to our fiber network. Please also fill out an Application for Service by clicking here.

STEP 4: SITE VISIT

A Panora Fiber technician will come on-site to determine the best route for bringing underground fiber to your premise. Complete our application for service by clicking on your computer under the Residential tab at the top of our website.

You’re now a Panora Fiber customer and can enjoy our fiber internet. Call us at 641.755.2424 in Panora or 641.332.2000 in Guthrie Center if you have questions.

STEP 5: CONSTRUCTION TO PREMISE

Utlilities will be located and flagged to construction. Fiber optics will be buried and coiled up outside the desired building.

STEP 6: SPLICE AND TEST

Our splicing teams access each vault to separate individual fibers that will eventually connect directly to your premise. Fiber is tested.

STEP 7: READY FOR AT-HOME INSTALLATION

Your location is now ready for service. A Panora Fiber representative will call you to schedule installation, which includes a protector box on the exterior of your home and an additional device for the interior.

STEP 8: ENJOY

July 9, 2025

Construction has started in Madison County and continues in Dallas County.

We know how much residents in Dallas and Madison counties are looking forward to the incredible speed and reliability of fiber internet. That’s why Panora Fiber is doing everything we can to keep our fiber builds progressing in these areas.

Here’s what you need to know:

Construction crews are hard at work. KLK Construction is the contractor for our Dallas County build, and Central Cable is the contractor for our Madison County build.

If you live in our fiber build areas, it’s important to submit the Permission to Bury to get the fiber survey for your property on the schedule so we know you’re interested. That way, the contractors won’t pass you by.

All the rain we’ve had this season has slowed us down somewhat. It’s great for our yards, but not great for burying fiber cables.

Madison County Progress

Our contractor is moving fast and aiming for a strong finish!

Mainline Construction: COMPLETE!
Drops and Splicing: Splicing is actively in progress. Drop installations continue slowly because of weather.
Cabinets: We are pushing hard on the power companies to energize our cabinets so we can start testing. We have two cabinets in Madison CO. Please see maps for breakout of neighborhood areas.

Dallas County Progress

Our contractor teams are busy across multiple fronts to get the job done!

Mainline Construction: Working near Panther Creek Dr, Mill Creek (HOA), rural Earlham. All work will depend on weather.
Drops and Splicing: Working near rural Redfield and Adel, along with Mill Creek (HOA).
Cabinets: There are two main cabinets, with 6 splitter cabinets. Main cabinet DC1-1 in green is powered and we are slowing installing customers that have their drops spliced. The other three splitter cabinets (brown, red & blue) are not ready for services, but splicing continues. The grey map that houses Main Cabinet #2 – DC2-1, is not powered up yet and is tied to the three splitter cabinets in the orange and purple. Splicing continues. Once powered up, we will start testing.

What do we mean by cabinet?

In a fiber build, each cabinet serves as a local communications hub for your neighborhood. Each one houses electronics that connect customers to the fiber network. During construction, Panora Fiber will bring fiber directly to each home or business, from one of the cabinets in the field. We have a total of four cabinets, with splitter cabinets within serving this fiber build. See attached map for neighborhood areas.

Madison County Progress: Madison Co #1 is Live!

We are thrilled to announce that our Madison Co #1 cabinet is officially powered up! Testing begins today, marking a major step toward bringing high-speed fiber to your neighborhood.

What happens next? Once testing is finalized, our team will begin reaching out to customers who are already spliced to schedule home installations.

Working through the cold, the winter weather hasn’t stopped us. Even in these frigid temperatures, our crews are on the ground splicing fiber to ensure more locations are ready for activation soon. To help speed up the process, we’ve brought on a trusted long-term contracting partner to assist with installations, ensuring we get you connected as quickly as possible.

We know how vital fast, reliable internet is, and we appreciate your patience as we bring the future of connectivity to Madison County.

Dallas County Progress: Service is Live & Expanding

Progress continues in Dallas County, where we are already seeing the impact of high-speed fiber.

Installations are ongoing in a targeted area of Dallas Co #1. We are proud to have customers connected and utilizing their high-speed services today!

While the service is live for a few, we still have mainline construction and home “drops” to complete.

As soon as the ground thaws and weather warms up, our construction crews will be back at full capacity to finish the remaining mainline work.

Our Commitment

We understand that fast, reliable internet is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. Whether we are splicing in the cold or planning for the spring thaw, our goal remains getting you connected.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When is fiber coming to my area?

While the construction crews are laying fiber in your area, there will be NO INSTALLATION CHARGE to connect fiber to your home or business. To show your interest in becoming a customer, simply fill out the Interest Form for fiber internet, video and phone services. You’ll also need to complete a Permission To Bury Form before we can initiate the fiber build process on your property. Click here to complete the Permission To Bury Form. If you have questions in the meantime, please call us at (641) 755-2424.

Will I be able to get internet, video and phone services from my fiber connection?

Yes. You can choose to receive all (3) of these services. If you have questions, call us at (641) 755-2424.

Click here to see what internet speeds Panora Fiber offers and what is ideal for your household.

Is fiber internet (FTTH) faster and more reliable than fixed wireless internet?

When you choose Panora Fiber to be your internet provider, you’ll have access to speeds over 1 Gig with no “fine print” contracts and no data caps. Plus, unlike wireless towers, our fiber network is buried underground and not impacted by rain, snow and extreme temperatures.

Does fiber video require a dish to be placed on top my house?

You can say goodbye to that unsightly dish and say hello to great video reception regardless of the weather. What’s more, with Panora Fiber, you can get everything you need from one provider and pay just one bill per month instead of two or three.

Will I be able to keep my same phone number when switching to fiber-based phone service?

Yes. This makes it so easy to switch to Panora Fiber and enjoy calling. What’s more, with Panora Fiber you can get everything you need from one provider and pay just one bill per month instead of two or three.

Will installation technicians need to enter my home to connect my home to fiber?

Yes. When we’ve completed the outdoor work, we’ll need to enter your home to complete the FTTH construction. You’ll be notified to schedule an appointment when it’s time for this installation process to be done.

Can having fiber (FTTH) increase my home's value?

Yes, according to the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Council Americas, FTTH can increase a home’s value by about 3%. This translates into thousands of dollars for a typical home. If you own a rental property, FTTH can also increase the desirability and the amount tenants are willing to pay in rent.

What are the advantages of fiber over copper lines, fixed wireless and satellite?

Fiber offers lots of advantages. They include: — More Bandwidth. Fiber has the capability to transport virtually unlimited bandwidth. This will accommodate today’s increasing demand for high-speed internet connections — the result of multiple users and devices engaged in applications such as streaming. Copper lines, fixed wireless and satellite services can not come close to matching fiber’s bandwidth capabilities. All of this, plus you get unlimited bandwidth and data usage — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

— More Internet Speed. Because fiber-optic technology uses light instead of electricity to transmit data, the frequencies that are used are much higher and the data capacity is much greater. Light moves extremely fast (186,000 miles per second), enabling internet speeds up to 1,000 Mbps (one Gigabit) on fiber-optic networks — 100 times faster than a common 10 Mbps residential copper or fixed wireless connection.

— Greater Reliability. Fiber-optic cables are less susceptible to glitches than traditional copper wires and can withstand the shock, vibration and interferences from inclement weather – unlike towers and satellites.

— Future Flexibility. FTTH is considered “future proof” and offers the flexibility to deliver additional services in the years to come.

Why is Panora Fiber investing in this FTTH project?

Panora Fiber is excited to bring our friends and neighbors this next generation of communications technology. We know more families need to be able to work from home or school from home. It’s all part of our commitment to provide exceptional customer service. FTTH offers many advantages to residential customers and businesses alike and prepares everyone to enjoy an even greater selection of communications options in the future.

To show your interest in participating in the fiber build. Simply fill out the Interest Form for fiber internet, video and phone services located below the maps at the top of the page. If you have questions in the meantime, please call us at (641) 755-2424.

Will there be an installation charge to install fiber at my home or business?

In order for you to start enjoying the benefits of fiber as soon as possible, be sure to complete the interest form, permission to bury and application for services.

We will waive the installation fee during our early-sign up, construction phase.

If you have questions in the meantime, please call us at (641) 755-2424.

How do I sign up for fiber if I live in the area shown on the map above?

Simply fill out the Interest Form below for fiber internet, video and phone services. There’s no obligation, no contract, and no deposit required during this early sign-up phase. If you have questions in the meantime, please call us at (641) 755-2424.

Will my yard be disturbed during the fiber build process?

Our goal is to treat your property as if it were our own. We’ll be using multiple techniques to bury the fiber-optic cable with minimal yard disturbance. If you have questions about the work planned for your property, please call us at (641) 755-2424.

What equipment will be placed on the exterior and interior of my home or business?

With your permission and approval, a location will be determined to mount a protection box on the exterior of your house. This is where we splice our fiber optic service lines in order to bring the service into your home or business. In addition, there will be devices installed inside that contain the electronics that convert a signal of light from fiber into usable internet as well as a wireless firewall router.

If you have questions about the work planned for your property, please call us at (641) 755-2424.

What are the benefits of having FTTH in our community?

When fiber networks come to smaller cities and rural communities, it helps level the playing field and close the urban-rural technology gap. Existing businesses can access the internet speeds and reliability needed to expand e-commerce. Economic development organizations have an easier time attracting new businesses. Telemedicine programs can expand patient access to specialists. And educational opportunities for students, once only found in large schools, can now be delivered to rural classrooms via online education.

What can you do with the fast fiber (FTTH) internet connection?

— Stream Videos, Movies and TV Shows Seamlessly. Fiber connections enables you to stream high-definition (4K) video content with virtually no delays or buffering.

— Easily Handle Multiple Users and Devices. With a growing number of internet-connected devices in homes and businesses, each user’s speed can decrease. This won’t be a concern with fast fiber connection, since it offers plenty of bandwidth for everyone.

— Download and Upload Files, Photos and Videos at Incredible Speeds. Large files that used to take minutes (or even hours) to download or upload can be done in seconds with a a fast fiber connection.

What is a gig speed?

When it comes to internet speeds, you’re probably used to seeing them expressed in Mbps (Megabits per second) — such as 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps. Thanks to fiber, get ready to add 1 Gig to your internet speed vocabulary. A Gig (Gigabit) is the equivalent of 1,000 Mbps.
